What do “Add-on deals” mean?
This is a promotional strategy that can drive more sales by encouraging customers of a main product to buy additional items with discounts. Merchants should understand customers’ needs before creating this campaign so that customers believe it is worthy of making the additional purchase.
Commonly, additional products are highly relevant to the main product. Below are some examples:
- Customers who purchase home appliances can extend their warranties with discounts.
- Customers who purchase a shirt can enjoy a discount on selected pants
Not only does it help increase your AOV, but also create a better shopping experience which is useful in growing your loyal customer base. Additionally, it is one of the most common tactics that make a clearance sale a success.
Something you should know before using the feature
- This feature only applies to merchants who are subscribing to our Business or Business PLUS service plan
- Each eligible merchant can create at most 10 additional deals, each of which can include at most 1 main product and 5 additional products
- When creating this campaign, each eligible merchant has to set the following limits for the additional product(s):
- “Customers can buy single item only” / “Customers can buy multiple items only”
- Purchase limit
- Please remind your customers to add the add-on item to their carts from your main product page or at checkout. Otherwise, they cannot enjoy your discount
- Customers can enjoy other offers from online promotional campaigns in your store at the same time (if any)
- Promo code cannot be used when a campaign offer has applied at customers checkout, except “Shipping Discounts”.
- When both “First purchase offer” and “Member order discount” are active, members who have never made any purchases before can only see and enjoy the “First purchase offer” once they reach the requirements.
